P&S Seaweed Harvesters Logo Representation

We elected a fishing hook and double Koru incorporated in a wave because of it’s significant meaning and representation.

Koru is the Maori word for loop the circular movement towards an inner coil refers to going back to the beginning.

The unfurling frond shape is symbolic of new life, new beginnings and the hope that is associated with a step into something new.

The Koru symbolizes the way in which life both change and stays the same, it’s also associated with nurturing. The waves represent Tangaroa God of the sea.

Our ancestors paved the way they lived, worked on their lands and sea collecting the gifts from Papatuanuki and Tangaroa. They used seaweeds for nutrition and medicinal purposes, to make a living concomitant for preserving and for cooking applications for survival.

Centuries later we are still living and working our lands and sea collecting the gifts Tangaroa provides for us to survive.

This is a representation of respect, gratitude, love and too never forget the point of origin that because of our ancestors we have this land to establish our business and because of our historical connections with Tangaroa he provides us with gifts for our business to exist.

Over time the business may change/grow but it will always stay the same… If we nurture these gifts it will always continue the loop for future generations!.
